Happy English Wine Week!

2008 May 24
by Dominic Rivard

From today until June the 1st, England will be celebrating its fast growing wine industry. Wine production and consumption of domestic wines in England is growing exponentially and it has every right to do so as quality is increasing fast. This proven by the many international awards now being won, competition after competition.

The week will be full of fun events throughout England and Wales. This will be a great chance to learn more about the wines, taste them, visit the estates and grow an appreciation for this wine region fast gaining in popularity.

Wine made from fresh English grapes is what is being celebrated this week.

However, on your quest for the perfect English wine to stock up on, do not forget to visit and sample the many well made English fruit wines (often called “Country Wines” in the UK) available such as Lurgashall Wines and the many excellent farmhouse ciders being produced all over the island.

Enjoy English Wine Week!
