Flirt With Forbidden Fruit!

Forbidden Fruit Winery, one of Canada’s most awarded wineries has just released a peach sparkling wine they call “Flirt”. I love the name and it fits well in their fabulous fruit wine line-up.

Made from 100% certified organic peaches, this “methode champenoise” bubbly exudes the sophistication of a dry Brut, including subtle flavours of the enticing peach. It won a silver medal at the prestigeous Northwest Wine Summit in Mt. Hood Oregon and with only 90 cases produced, this sparkling wine is going fast according to Steve and Nathan Venables who grows the fruit and make the wines. I can’t find a better way to celebrate summer and I am sure I am not the only one. There is only one problem I see… there is not enough of this stuff made!

Throughout my wine “travels” I see more and more sparkling fruit wines and ciders, both straight apple and flavoured with various fruit. This confirms to me a trend that has been going on for a while that more and more fruit “bubbly” is being made, consumed and appreciated. This my friends is a great thing!
